A Community of Misfits on a Mission

Advent Week 1

Advent is the start of the Christian year, a season of waiting, repentance, and preparation for Christmas. At Advent, the church journeys with ancient Israel to the birth of Christ through the tension of hope and lament. At Advent, we light candles to symbolize Christ’s light coming into the world. And we sing songs of longing for deliverance, for liberation. Through Christ’s first advent, the Kingdom of God has been ushered in; we now await Christ’s second advent when all things will be made new.

We are also kicking off a new, four-week teaching series for the season of Advent called “Advent in Narnia,” where we will reflect on themes from Scripture, our experiences, and C. S. Lewis’s famous children’s book The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Join us for week one of Advent this Sunday at 10:00 AM, 755 Prior Ave. N. in St. Paul 55104.
