A Community of Misfits on a Mission

Baptism

Whether you are new to the Christian faith or have been a follower of Jesus for many years, the decision to be baptized is a very important one. Being water baptized is a celebration of the grace God has bestowed upon us and the response we’ve demonstrated through repentance and the obedience of faith.

At Roots, we believe that baptism is welcome and entrance into the body of Christ and is open to people of all ages. We also believe that baptism of children beautifully illustrates God’s grace that runs ahead of us and waits patiently for us. Baptism is a sacrament, a means of grace, that unites all followers of Jesus regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race, class, gender, or orientation. Therefore, we affirm all the most common modes of Christian baptism (e.g. immersion, sprinkling, believer’s, infant).
