Blessings & Apples!
This Sunday, October 26, we’ll gather for one of our most joyful fall traditions: our Back to School Blessings. We’ll celebrate and bless our students—from preschool to grad school—and every Educator, as they begin a new school year. Every student will receive:
• A personalized blessing from Pastor Osheta (written by you or by her)
• Stickers for their water bottles
• Lunch box notes from the congregation
If you’d like your child to receive a blessing and gift, or if you’d like to sign up to bring apple snacks or treats for the Lovefeast, please fill out this quick form: https://bit.ly/MisfitBlessings
In place of the hay bails that could trigger our fellow misfits’ allergies, we’ve got a surprise that helps strengthen our immune systems instead. Our neighbor, Tom Bolas, the Midway Urban Beekeeper, is sharing his bounty with us again this year! Bring an empty jar with a lid and fill it up with local honey as a sweet reminder of community and care.
Pastor Osheta will also share a short homily on Apples, Honey, and Forgiveness, honoring our Jewish siblings’ observance of Yom Kippur.
It’s going to be a beautiful morning of blessing, sweetness, and belonging. See you there!
