A Community of Misfits on a Mission

Day of Service

You’re invited to join other misfits tomorrow for a special Sunday Gathering: a Day of Service. We’re in a teaching series called “12 Ways to Be Christian” in which we’ve learned about “Taking Responsibility”, “Sharing Everything”, and “Protecting the Vulnerable.” To live these out, we’re partnering with a denomination called the Moravians that have an annual day of service on September 18th, along with Roots already being the St. Paul partner site of a national nonprofit organization called Laundry Love. Together with these partners, we will serve our neighbors here in the Midway by compiling laundry supplies and paying for washing and drying at a local laundromat.

Meet up at the Community Room of the Prior Works building (755 Prior Ave. N. in St. Paul) at 10:00am.

There are four ways you can join us in dignifying our neighbors with clean clothes and financial breathing room:
  1. Join us tomorrow for the Sunday Gathering—a combination of worship and fellowship. Coffee and donuts!
  2. Join us at the Midway Laundromat at the corner of Hamline and Minnehaha anytime between 11:30–2:00, where Pastor Osheta will be checking in neighbors and helping them wash their laundry.
  3. Give to our Laundry Love Fund. Every dollar in that account goes to laundry supplies, hospitality, and coins for washing/drying.
  4. Pray for our Midway neighbors, for those experiencing homelessness, and that those we serve experience God’s love.
