Sunday, the 6th of September, is part of Labor Day Weekend and Roots is observing it as a Rest Sunday. While there will be no worship service, Rest Sunday does offer us an invitation. We believe that a rhythm of rest is a spiritual practice. So on fifth Sundays, we’re offered an opportunity to step back from our usual rhythm and we’re encouraged to connect with God through the world God has made.
Creation has a way of saying things about the Creator that our words sometimes can’t. So whether your Rest Sunday looks like going for a walk around a lake, or just sitting out on your porch with something refreshing to drink and something good to read, or tending your garden, or just finding a patch of sky to stare at for a while, our hope is you’ll accept the invitation to rest.
