A Community of Misfits on a Mission

Worship Gathering (Breaking the Chains, Week 2)

During the season of Lent, we’re exploring the theme “Breaking the Chains,” both personal and systemic. We’re asking questions related to our own culpability in sin and God’s mercy in our lives. We’re also meditating upon Jesus’s journey to the Cross during Holy Week, which culminates with his Resurrection, which we celebrate on Easter. This second week of Lent, we’ll be taking a closer look at Jesus’s temptation and what it teaches us about the temptations we face, both personally and collectively.

At once the Spirit sent [Jesus] out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by [the] Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. (Mark 1.12-13)
