Human beings are cultural beings. We understand life through the cultures that form us. Our cultures can help and sometimes hinder our walk with Christ. Join us for an in depth conversation and restorative workshop called, “God’s Love In Our Stories: How Asian culture impacts our walk with Christ” workshop. We’ll engage questions like, “Can we experience a guilt free relationship with God?
Can our concept of obedience hinder, sustain, or nurture our experience of God’s love?”
As Asian American Christians, how do cultural and traditional values impact our image and understanding of God?
Our workshop facilitator will be Naisa Wong, a 2nd generation Chinese American who has worked as a director, producer, performer, and creative consultant within theater, film, and television for the past 14 years. In ministry, she has served as a worship leader and as a creative arts and spiritual formation leader. Wong received her Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction and Certificate in Trauma and Spiritual Care from San Francisco Theological Seminary and has experience leading workshops for 2nd generation Asian Americans.
If you are not Asian, we would love to have you join us and learn how your Asian brothers and sisters are processing how they are following Jesus as they engage with Asian and American culture.
