Wounds Theology, the Image of God, and Disability

Wired Series

In this message, Pastor T. C. continues in our new teaching series by returning to a piece of Moravian history we don’t talk about much: Count Zinzendorf’s “wounds theology,” and his devotion to the wounds of the risen Christ. Drawing on Nancy Eiesland’s The Disabled God and Amy Kenny’s My Body Is Not a Prayer Request, we explore how the resurrected Christ’s permanent scars reshape the way we understand disability and the imago Dei—and offer a lens for the rest of this series: three ways to think about how we’re wired, as we hear from voices on neurodiversity, executive function variability, trauma, behavioral psychology, and disability advocacy in the weeks ahead.
